OM Parvat Mount Kailash
🕉️ Om Parvat, Lipulekh Pass & Kailash Darshan: Finding My Spiritual Centre
Among all the sacred pilgrimages I have undertaken in the Himalayas, few moments have been as profound as standing before Om Parvat and receiving the blessed darshan of Mount Kailash from Lipulekh Pass.
The journey itself felt like a gradual movement away from the noise of the world and towards something eternal. As I approached Om Parvat and witnessed the naturally formed ॐ symbol shining upon the mountain face, I felt a deep sense of reverence. It was not merely a mountain. It was a reminder that the primordial sound of creation continues to echo through the universe and within every seeker.
Standing before Om Parvat, words seemed unnecessary. The mountain communicated through silence. The mind naturally became calm, and prayer arose without effort.
The experience at Lipulekh Pass (5,350 m / 17,550 ft) was even more transformative.
From this sacred gateway, I was blessed with a distant darshan of the revered Mount Kailash, the eternal abode of Lord Shiva. I had seen countless photographs of Kailash throughout my life, yet nothing compared to the moment of seeing it with my own eyes. In that instant, something shifted within me.
The worries that once felt important suddenly seemed insignificant. Ambitions, fears, and worldly concerns lost their hold. The mountain stood there in perfect stillness, asking for nothing and proving nothing, yet commanding the deepest respect.
I realised that Kailash does not teach through words. It teaches through presence. The greatest lesson I received was not about reaching a destination, but about discovering an inner centre that remains unchanged amidst life’s constant movement.
🔱 What Kailash Taught Me
Many mountains challenge the body.
Kailash transformed the mind. Standing in its presence, I felt:
“Everything else became small.”
The experience reminded me that there is a higher perspective beyond daily struggles, a place of silence from which true wisdom emerges.
Inner Lessons Received
✅ Silence – The deepest truths are heard when the mind becomes still.
✅ Cosmic Perspective – Life’s problems become smaller when viewed from the horizon of eternity.
✅ Spiritual Centre – Within every seeker exists an unchanging inner Kailash, a sacred space of peace and awareness.
✅ Divine Presence – God is not only found in temples and scriptures, but also in mountains, silence, and the stillness of the heart.
Today, when I reflect upon Om Parvat and my darshan of Kailash from Lipulekh Pass, I do not remember merely a journey through the Himalayas. I remember a moment of profound clarity, where the outer pilgrimage revealed an inner truth.
“Before Kailash, I did not feel that I was looking at a mountain. I felt that I was standing before the silent centre of creation itself, where all thoughts dissolve and only the presence of Mahadev remains.” 🕉️🔱🙏
